Spring rolls around and the Veerhuis family comes over to hang out at the Delacourt place. Since JJ is very pregnant, it’s a little harder to go out and have fun, but the fun can visit them too!
After the gossiping it’s time for pizza.
Ray seems exceptionally peckish.
With the softer weather, JJ has set up a small garden despite having to carry around a baby in his belly. He can’t keep his fingers out of the dirt, it seems.
Staying at home suits him fine, but he wants to have something fun to do of course!
With taking care of his own needs and those of his plants, time flies by.
At night, JJ wakes up suddenly. He can feel it…
The baby is coming!
Caspian soon jumps out of bed as well, and moments later a little baby girl is born. They call her Maeve.
With a little baby in the house, JJ and Caspian are preoccupied. Between going to work, taking care of everyone’s needs and gardening, there isn’t a whole lot of time to go out or do something out in Robinsdale.
However, life seems good.
Caspian happily shares stories of the baby at work, and lets JJ know all about it too.
A proud dad.
And when the baby’s asleep, there’s still some time for each other as well.
…with the result that while JJ is feeding Maeve, he suddenly feels a little strange again. Was there still some of Bevruchtenhagel’s technology left? He could have sworn…
But there’s no mistaking it, JJ is expecting another child. It's a little unexpected and maybe not the greatest timing, because it’s Maeve’s birthday!
Being invited to the birthday party, Bevruchtenhagel admires the fruit of his labour. He wonders how many more successes he can achieve in this town.
Soon, the party is in full swing.
Everyone is excited for baby Maeve to grow up (ok, maybe not everyone)!
Time to blow out the candles!
Baby Maeve is now a toddler. What will the future hold for her?
She doesn’t seem too impressed with her dad trying to teach her words, in any case.
The party ends as a great success. After tucking Maeve into bed and cleaning up after everyone, Caspian knows that summer is drawing near. He gets into bed with JJ, dreaming of what their family life is going to look like in the future!
With the end of the round, I want to share the family tree of the Delacourt family now! Since Maeve is the new addition, it looks like this:
